Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery

Susan and Jeff Vandermolen extend a warm welcome to you at the Beaufort Vineyard and Estate Winery – proud to be the first Estate Winery in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island and crafters of International Award Winning Wines! In 2007, we planted 8 acres of grapevines including: Marechal Foch, Leon Millot, Cab-Foch, Ortega, Siegerrebe, plus Schönburger and Pinot Gris. These vines were chosen for our cooler climate and produce uniquely fruity, aromatic white wines, along with rich, full-bodied reds. Our focus is on producing handcrafted, high quality wines.

Our 2009 release will include: Pinot Gris (2 styles), Ortega, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir (Blanc de Noir style), Panacea (a white wine blend made from 100% Vancouver Island grapes), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and our own unique fortified wines, one from a delicious blend of local blackberries and black currants, and also a cassis. Later in 2009 we hope to release our very first sparkling wine made from Vancouver Island Pinot Noir grapes.

We open to the public in May 2009 and we will have a tasting room, retail shop (offering local artisan food products, craft items and showcasing regional artists), and picnic area – with stunning views over the vines, the Beaufort Mountains and our Moai (14-foot high Easter Island statue).
