Damali became a licensed winery in October of 2010 and will open for sampling and sales of their first wines in 2011. 

Bring a picnic and relax in our licensed picnic area under the arbour where you can watch the activities on this working farm with 25 varieties of lavender and a 2.5 acre vineyard. Then take a self guided stroll through the lavender fields and gardens, walk the labyrinth and browse the boutique lavender shop. Prearrange for a guided farm tour for your group or special occasion. 

Starling Lane is a partnership of three families founded on the belief that quality wines begin with a commitment to produce high quality grapes in our local vineyards on the Saanich Peninsula near Victoria. We spend much of the year nurturing our vines and then make only small lots of fine wine, literally handcrafting each and every bottle. The winery site dates back to the days of “Hanging Judge” Matthew Begbie who acquired this parcel of land in 1859. The winery sits next to Jacqueline’s white greenhouse, now a local landmark.

Visit British Columbia’s first estate cidery for an experience the whole family will enjoy. Look for apple blossom faeries in the orchard, take the tours and tastings, feed the rainbow trout in our spring-fed quarry pond, and catch a glimpse of the distiller crafting our new fruit brandies from our hand hammered copper still. Our first production of Pomme De Vie and Blackberry de Vie, two clear brandies, was crafted and aged in French and Canadian oak barrels (a first in Canada).
