Merridale Ciderworks Bistro and Distillery
Visit British Columbia’s first estate cidery for an experience the whole family will enjoy. Look for apple blossom faeries in the orchard, take the tours and tastings, feed the rainbow trout in our spring-fed quarry pond, and catch a glimpse of the distiller crafting our new fruit brandies from our hand hammered copper still. Our first production of Pomme De Vie and Blackberry de Vie, two clear brandies, was crafted and aged in French and Canadian oak barrels (a first in Canada).
Imagine yourself in the middle of an apple orchard in northern France or the shores of England enjoying local cuisine, fine wine, and award-winning cider. Now cancel that plane ticket and join us at la Pommeraie, a bistro at Merridale. For fresh and fabulous local cuisine, enjoy a meal prepared by our Master Chef of England, Dave Woolfall. We believe in serving food in its purest form by cooking with local, seasonally available ingredients supplied by the nearby farmers. Menu items are designed to come together at the last moment for freshness — a planned spontaneity. The smell of country apple pie, scones made with butter, and fresh bread from our brick oven will certainly lead you to the door.
Our French baker, Alain Boisseau, can be seen by the outdoor brick oven crafting a unique selection of baked goods such as cider yeast breads, croissants, apple pies and pizza. These creations complement our bistro menu and are also available for purchase from our deli store. Don’t miss our Friday night BBQ’s or Sunday pizza and jazz nights on the deck. We invite you to visit our website for information about weddings, banquets, and other special entertainment throughout the year. Come be our guests. Our doors are open for your visit!
