How to become a WIVA Member or Partner

The overall goal of the Wine Islands Vintners Association (WIVA) is to provide a full service experience for the Vancouver Island and Gulf Island traveler, whether they are a local resident or out of town guest.  WIVA has 3 exciting opportunities for you to become involved.

(1) WIVA PARTNERSHIP: As a food, wine, tourism or other Wine Islands related business, becoming a WIVA Partner is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of our marketing efforts and maximize your exposure to a target audience. Benefits of Partnership include:

• A full listing on our website, complete with contact information, map/location, and link to your website; this listing can be updated for you throughout your annual Partnership
• Social Media bumps via: WIVA's blog; quarterly e-news; Facebook; and Twitter - all great for pushing traffic to your website!
• Your upcoming events listed on WIVA's event page
• Info about your goods/services made available at WIVA meetings
• Links to official tourism websites by being associated with WIVA: our WIVA website is linked on both Hello BC and Tourism Vancouver Island websites at no extra cost to you
• The annual cost for WIVA Partnership is only $100+HST

(2) WIVA MEMBERSHIP: As a licensed winery on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands using 100% BC fruit, WIVA is the perfect association for you to network, be promoted to your target audience, and be involved in promotion of the Wine Islands as a fabulous tourist destination. Benefits of Membership include:

• Welcomed participation both at board level WIVA meetings, allowing you to influence WIVA policies, and through participation at WIVA activities
• Logo placement on every page of WIVA's home page via a random logo rotation of all members
• Full winery/cidery/meadery listing on our Wineries page, including contact information, map with your location pinpointed for ease of directions for your customers, and link to your website
• Social Media bumps via: WIVA's blog; quarterly e-news; Facebook; and Twitter - all great for pushing traffic to your website!
• Your upcoming events listed on WIVA's event page
• Endless networking opportunities with others in the wine industry through a Members-only Forum; contribute to an existing topic thread or start your own!
• Eligible, where possible, for preferred advertising rates on WIVA brochures and other publications such as WIVA’s Passport to the Wine Islands for 2011 and Vancouver Island's Wine & Culinary Guide.
• Representation in the Food and Beverage Tourism Alliance of BC, a provincial organization with a mandate to increase wine and culinary tourism in BC.  WIVA's President, Janet Docherty, represents WIVA in this organization at the board level.
• Representation in Tourism Vancouver Island’s marketing committee. TVI currently produces Vancouver Island's Wine & Culinary Guide, which supports WIVA at various provincial consumer and trade shows as well as various international shows.  TVI also acts for Tourism BC when media come to our Islands, ensuring they are knowledgeable about our industry and the players within which enables TVI to guide media and familiarization tours to our doors. There currently is a WIVA member representing us at all marketing meetings.
• Representation with Tourism Victoria. WIVA is a member of Tourism Victoria which gives us the opportunity to stock our guides at the Wharf Street Information Centre in Victoria, a main gateway for travel onto Vancouver Island and an extremely busy centre.
• The annual cost for WIVA Memebrship is only $150+HST

(3) WIVA WEBSITE LISTING ONLY: if you would like to purchase a listing under one of the Restaurant, Accommodation, or Shops&Attractions pages the annual cost is $50+HST.
